Man Stabbed to Death on Long Beach Train

Long Beach Police is searching for a suspect after a man was found stabbed to death on the metro blue line train in Long Beach Wednesday.

The stabbing was reported on the 100 block of East 1st Street around 3:38 p.m.

When authorities arrived, they found an adult male victim “suffering from apparent stab wounds to the body.”

A male suspect fled the scene before police arrived, police said.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, officials confirm.

No suspect description was available and the victim’s identity has not been released. It’s unclear what initially prompted the deadly stabbing.

The deadly incident remains under investigation. The downtown train station was closed for several hours during the investigation.
