Long Beach Police is investigating Tuesday evening at McKinley Elementary School on Paramount Boulevard and 68th Street.
Witnesses say a person carrying a sledgehammer reportedly tried to climb the school fence just after 2:30PM.
He then attempted to climb a second fence to get onto the main campus when “he was pulled down and detained by a group of male adults,” according to a Long Beach police statement.
“At some point, he became unresponsive,” the statement added.
Long Beach fire and police arrived to a person suffering a possible cardiac arrest.
The investigation is ongoing.
