SWAT Responds to Barricaded Burglary Suspect in Long Beach Home

Long Beach police deployed SWAT resources Monday night after a burglary suspect barricaded himself inside a residence in the 4200 block of Lakewood Boulevard.

Officers responded around 8:55 p.m. on May 4, 2026, to reports of a burglary in progress. When they arrived, police attempted to make contact with the suspect, who had locked himself inside the home of an adult male victim. Authorities quickly established a perimeter as the situation escalated.

SWAT teams were called in to safely resolve the standoff. After a coordinated response, officers were able to take the suspect into custody without reported injuries.

Police identified the suspect as Run Peov, a 47-year-old Long Beach resident. He was booked on charges of burglary and obstructing a peace officer, with bail set at $50,000.

The investigation remains ongoing.
