Daily Highlights
- To further protect against the spread of COVID-19, in the midst of an unprecedented increase in cases which continues to impact hospital capacity, the City has issued an updated Health Order that prohibits or limits most non-essential activities, in alignment with the State’s Regional Stay at Home Order. The changes are effective as of 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6.
- A public-facing Long Beach Public Library employee assigned to the Billie Jean King Main Library has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee, who is a Long Beach resident, was last at work on Dec. 5. They are now isolating at home.
- The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services has awarded contracts to community organizations to expand mental health awareness efforts and provide services to individuals experiencing domestic and interpersonal violence during the pandemic.
Long-Term Care Facility Case Information:
- A total of1,638 positive cases have been confirmed at LTCFs in the city since the start of the pandemic (see attachment).
