LBPD asking for the public’s help in locating 22-year-old critical missing person. The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 22-year-old critical missing person, Christian Garcia, who was last seen on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Garcia was last seen leaving his residential care facility in the 6000 block of Paramount Boulevard. He is a Dependent Adult who is unable to care for himself and is in need of medication.

The critical missing person is described as follows: Age: 22-years-old
Gender: Male
Race: Black
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 150 lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Clothing: Dark grey “California” t-shirt, burgundy scrub style pants
Jewelry: none
Scars/Marks: none
Visible Dental Work: none
Medical Alerts: Dependent adult in need of medication

U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 aircraft at Long Beach Airport this weekend are noticeably louder than other aircraft and are easily heard in neighborhoods near Long Beach Airport.

After a few planned operations over the weekend, the aircraft will depart the morning of Monday, September 14. All times are tentative and subject to change without notice. Military aircraft are exempt from noise regulations. However, the U.S. Marine Corps has consistently demonstrated a desire to assist LGB in being a good neighbor and will follow standard noise abatement arrival and departure procedures, including modified arrival and departure flight profiles and minimum use of afterburners. #longbeach #lgb #lbln #longbeachlocalnews

LBPD Detectives ID Three Suspects in Connection wi

LBPD Detectives ID Three Suspects in Connection with Deadly Shooting. On September 10, 2020, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Long Beach Police Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Atlantic Avenue regarding a shooting that resulted in the death of one adult male.  Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. A female passenger was giving aid to the victim. Officers began lifesaving measures on the victim and requested paramedics. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire, and later pronounced deceased at the hospital. At this time, the victim is only being identified as a male adult pending notification to next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe three suspects were attempting to rob the victim and one of the suspects shot the victim during the commission of the crime. The suspects fled the location on foot prior to officers’ arrival. While searching the area, Patrol Officers recovered a rifle near the 500 block of E. 5th Street and located and detained the suspects in the 600 block of Long Beach Blvd.

Through their investigation, Homicide Detectives arrested three suspects in connection with this case:
• Mykeel Tucker Peddycoat, 23 years old and a resident of Long Beach, was booked for murder and is being held on $2,000,000 bail.
• Branden Charles Wilson, 28 years old and a resident of Long Beach, was booked for murder and is being held on $2,000,000 bail.
• Ayana Denae Powell, 19 yearsold and a resident of Long Beach, was booked for murder and is being held on $2,000,000 bail.

Man shot and killed after argument in Long Beach.

Man shot and killed after argument in Long Beach. On Tuesday morning at 7:00 am, LBPD officers responded to the 1000 block of Dawson Avenue regarding reports of shots fired. When officers arrivedthey located a male adult victim who had been struck by gunfire. The Long Beach Fire Department determined the male adult victim deceased at the scene. Witnesses stated that the victim was involved in an argument with a male adult suspect when the suspect brandished a firearm and shot the victim. The investigation is ongoing.

Three female juveniles reported as missing persons

Three female juveniles reported as missing persons recovered and two adult suspects arrested.

Detectives from the Long Beach Police Vice Investigations Section arrested Mycal Ruff, a 32-year-old resident of Carson , on August 28, 2020 on three counts of False Imprisonment and Human Trafficking and was held on $450,000 bail. Detectives also arrested Dezere Romero, a 21-year-old resident of San Bernardino, on September 3, 2020 on three counts of Human Trafficking of a victim under 18-years-old and one count of prostitution and is being held on $470,000 bail.

The events began on August 13, 2020, when detectives initiated an investigation involving the prostitution of a minor near the 100 block of 28th street. Detectives arranged to meet the minor inside of a location. Once inside, detectives received consent to search the minor’s phone, which revealed an additional two juvenile-trafficking victims later recovered by detectives on August 14, 2020 and August 26, 2020.

The victims relayed to detectives that they were forced to perform prostitution acts for a pimp named Mycal Ruff. Ruff was aided by Dezere Romero, who helped manage the minors on his behalf.  

The three female juveniles, ages 15, 16, and 17, were all listed as missing persons from Long Beach, San Bernardino, and Hemet, respectively.

Possible evidence has shown that one of the victims may have been trafficked across state lines. 

The Long Beach Police Department is a proud member of the Commercially Sexually Exploited Child Task Force formed in 2013 by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. The victims who were identified by detectives were provided with victim-centered services through the Los Angeles County First Responder Protocol for Sexually Exploited Children.
