Man Killed After Being Shot Multiple Times in Long Beach

A man was shot and killed after being shot multiple times. The shooting was reported just after 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Long Beach officers were dispatched to the intersection of 17th Street and Daisy Avenue and in response to a reported shooting.

Officers arrived and located a male adult Hispanic with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. Long Beach Fire Department responded and determined the victim deceased at the scene.

A possible suspect on a bicycle was seen fleeing the area eastbound on 17th Street from Daisy Avenue.

The victim appeared to be 30-35 years-old and was believed to be living inside of a small transient encampment located in the area of Daisy Avenue and 17th Street.

The incident does not appear to be gang-related.  A motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation remains ongoing.
