Man Hospitalized After Shooting in Long Beach
LONG BEACH — Police are investigating after a man was wounded in a shooting Sunday night south of the city’s Bixby Knolls area.
On Aug. 24, 2025, at approximately 8:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital after a man arrived with a gunshot wound, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers contacted the victim, an adult male, who had sustained a non-life-threatening injury to his lower body. He told investigators he was walking in the 3200 block of Atlantic Avenue when he suddenly felt pain and realized he had been shot. The man then drove himself to the hospital for treatment.
Police said they canvassed the area described but did not locate a crime scene.
