Long Beach police are investigating a shooting that left a man with minor injuries after a bullet pierced the ceiling of his home late Saturday night.

Officers responded to the 3600 block of Thornlake Avenue on November 15, 2025, at approximately 8:48 p.m. following reports of gunfire in the area. When they arrived, officers found a male adult victim who had sustained a minor, non-critical injury to his lower body.
According to investigators, the man had been lying in bed when a bullet came through the ceiling and struck him, causing injury. Police said it remains unclear who fired the shot or what led to the gunfire.
“The motive and circumstances of the incident remain under investigation,” the Long Beach Police Department stated.
Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and speak with residents in an effort to determine where the gunfire originated. Anyone with information is urged to contact LBPD.
