Long Beach police are investigating a shooting that left a teenage boy wounded early Friday morning.

Officers were first dispatched at approximately 12:01 a.m. on March 27, 2026, to the 5800 block of Linden Avenue following reports of gunfire. After canvassing the area, officers were unable to locate any evidence of a shooting at that time.
Roughly 50 minutes later, at about 12:50 a.m., officers responded to a local hospital where a teenage male arrived with gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim, who was listed in stable condition, had transported himself to the hospital.
During the investigation, officers determined the two incidents were connected and subsequently located a crime scene in the 5900 block of Atlantic Avenue.
Authorities have not released any suspect information, and the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
