Long Beach, CA — A month-long enforcement operation led by the Long Beach Police Department resulted in seven arrests connected to commercial sex work activity along the Long Beach Boulevard corridor, authorities announced.

Throughout March 2026, North Division patrol officers partnered with the department’s High Crime Focus Team (HCFT) and Societal Crimes Section to address ongoing community concerns related to illegal activity, including prostitution and human trafficking.
As a result of the operation, six individuals were arrested for solicitation-related offenses, and three vehicles were impounded.
Those arrested include:
- Briana Hoyem, 28, of Long Beach, arrested March 25 and again on March 31
- David Lozano, 39, of Los Angeles, arrested March 25
- Azora Mack, 22, of Fresno, arrested March 25
- Eduardo Cortez, 27, of Long Beach, arrested March 25
- Alex Palma, 38, of Long Beach, arrested March 31
In a related incident, officers responded to the 6400 block of Long Beach Boulevard around 12:28 a.m. on March 21 regarding a reported robbery. Investigators say a male suspect pointed a firearm at a commercial sex worker and attempted to rob her.
Officers later located the suspect, recovered the weapon, and took him into custody. He was identified as Blazie Douglas, 34, of Long Beach. Douglas was booked on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, soliciting prostitution, and an outstanding warrant. He is currently being held without bail.
“Efforts like these reflect our continued commitment to addressing illegal activity while prioritizing the safety and dignity of those impacted by exploitation,” said Long Beach Police Chief Wally Hebeish. “Through combining proactive enforcement with a victim-centered approach, our officers are working to hold offenders accountable and connect vulnerable individuals with resources that can help them move toward safer circumstances.”
Police say the department remains focused on a proactive, victim-centered strategy, offering support services and assistance to individuals encountered during enforcement operations.
Authorities are urging the public to report suspicious activity. In emergencies, call 9-1-1. For non-emergency situations, contact police dispatch at 562-435-6711.
