A man is recovering after a shooting early Sunday morning in North Long Beach, marking yet another act of violence amid a recent uptick in shootings and stabbings across the city.

On April 26, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded to a local hospital regarding a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers contacted an adult male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body.

Preliminary investigation revealed the shooting occurred in the 4800 block of Long Beach Boulevard. Officers responded to the scene, where they located evidence of a crime.
