Long Beach Resident Convicted of Human Trafficking Long Beach Resident Convicted of Human Trafficking of Minors.

Four years after a Long Beach man was arrested on child trafficking charges, the suspect was sentenced to 61 years to life in prison.

The investigation began on February 20, 2018, when detectives assigned to the Long Beach Police Department Vice Investigation Detail discovered a sexually exploited minor was posting a commercial sex advertisement online. Vice Detectives were able to locate and recover three victims, two minors and one adult.

Throughout the investigation, detectives gathered sufficient evidence and were able to identify a suspect responsible for the incidents.

On June 23, 2018, detectives arrested 26-year-old Gregory Wilson of Long Beach. Wilson was arrested in the City of Compton on an arrest warrant that was issued in connection to the case.

On April 22, 2022, a human trafficking jury trial for Wilson concluded. The jury returned guilty verdicts on six felony counts that included two counts of human trafficking of a minor by force or fear, one count human trafficking of an adult, one count of inflicting great bodily injury during the commission of human trafficking, one count of criminal threats, one count of kidnapping, and one count of kidnapping an unresisting minor.

On August 15, 2022, Wilson was sentenced to 61 years and 8 months to life at the Long Beach Superior Court.

Bebita (#A656328) is a 5 year old pint-sized pitty that's one of our longest residents, waiting for her special someone to find her since April 2021. She's a strong, compact little ball of fun with a huge smile that goes from giant ear to ear! She's very affectionate and loves to be near her people. She can be protective in the home environment and will need a patient owner to help teach her to trust new people. She will flourish in a dog savvy home where she is the only pet. If you're looking for your soulmate, someone to exercise with and then cuddle up to watch a movie, this little gal is waiting for you!

The shelter is over capacity. Please help network this gorgeous pup!

In accordance with current legislation, including In accordance with current legislation, including Senate Bill 1421 and Assembly Bill 748, the Long Beach Police Department discloses certain records and video evidence related to critical incidents, such as officer-involved shootings.

Today, the department is releasing a Critical Incident Video regarding an officer-involved shooting that occurred on July 9.

The Long Beach Police Department is seeking the pu The Long Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s help locating a male suspect involved in a sexual battery incident involving a male minor.

On July 31, 2022, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of East 4th Street regarding a sexual battery incident that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect initially followed the victim for several blocks. While following the victim, the suspect propositioned him and then grabbed his lower body. An altercation ensued, which resulted in the suspect striking the victim in the upper body before fleeing.

Detectives are releasing a photograph of the suspect from surveillance footage and video from the incident. The Long Beach Police Department requests information about this incident and/or the suspect’s identity.

The suspect is described as a male White or Hispanic (light complexion), approximately 18-25 years old, between 5’10” to 5’11” in height, with a thin build, short medium-length hair in a “comb over” style, and a light-colored mustache. The suspect wore a blue Dodgers T-shirt, light-colored pants, and black sandals. The suspect may have attended a party in the area before the assault.
