Update Looting Task Force Nets Additional Arrests 9/18/20:

On June 1, 2020, the Long Beach Police Department formed the Looting Task Force with the sole purpose of conducting criminal investigations for significant crimes during the civil unrest experienced in the city in late May. Thus far the task force has made a multitude of arrests and continues to bring to justice to those responsible for crimes including looting, burglary, robbery, and vandalism. Statistics yielded by the task force as of September 15, 2020, are as follow:

  • 34 arrests
  • 35 arrest warrants obtained
  • 54 additional cases submitted to the District Attorney or City Prosecutor
  • 26 vehicles impounded
  • 27 search warrants served

Below is a summary of arrests and charges of suspects since our latest update:

  • Ahmajae Gaybriano, 20-years-old, resident of the City of Los Angeles, was arrested for looting on August 11, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Humberto Perez, Jr., 31-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for looting on August 11, 2020, and bail was set at $100,000
  • Miguel Thompson, 32-years-old, resident of the City of Los Angeles, was arrested for looting on August 19, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Matthew Seefeldt, 22-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for burglary on September 1, 2020, and bail was set at $100
  • Tiffany Bumpers, 36-years-old, resident of the City of Carson, was arrested for looting on September 2, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Paul Sanders, 46-years-old, resident of the City of Los Angeles, was arrested for looting on September 5, 2020, and bail was set at $225,000

  • Kenneth Andrews, 19-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for commercial burglary, and simple possession on June 1, 2020 
  • Eric Gunter, 35-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for looting, and curfew violation on June 1, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000  
  • Hazael Aguila, 36-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and curfew violation on June 1, 2020
  • Charly Harris, 40-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for looting, and commercial burglary on July 7, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000 
  • Marcos Villareal, 24-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for looting on July 9, 2020, and bail was set at $100,000  
  • Charles Shaw, 41-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for looting on July 14, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000 
  • Pisitoto Leifi, 46-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm, and manufacturing/selling/possessing/etc. of large cap magazine on July 15, 2020, and bail was set at $35,000 
  • Desean Armstrong, 34-years-old, resident of the City of Bellflower, was arrested for looting on July 17, 2020, and bail was set at $75,000
  • Aisha Sanford, 33-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for looting, and conspiracy to commit a crime on July 27, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Dustin Tene, 18-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for looting on July 28, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Steven Tene, 25-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for looting on July 28, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Randy Brown, 39-years-old, resident of the City of Los Angeles, was arrested for looting on August 4, 2020, and bail was set at $150,000
  • Isreal Flores, 28-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for resisting arrest, and carrying a concealed dirk or dagger on August 4, 2020, and bail was set at $100,000
  • Clintoneisha Brown, 24-years-old, resident of the City of Los Angeles, was arrested for looting on August 5, 2020, and bail was set at $150,000

L.B.P.D. Looting Task Force Nets Multiple Arrests

The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) created a Looting Task Force in response to civil unrest that took place in the City of Long Beach on May 31, 2020.

The task force is comprised of a specialized team of detectives, officers, and administrative staff with the primary focus of identifying and locating suspects involved in recent incidents of looting and criminal activity related to civil unrest.

The taskforce has utilized video and photo evidence collected from various sources, including business and residential surveillance systems, social media, news coverage, and submissions to the LBPD’s online evidence portal, to identify suspects involved in looting and other criminal activity.

Formed on June 1, 2020, the task force operates Monday through Friday and has already arrested 14 suspects for various charges. Below is a summary of their charges:

  • Aniya Guichard, 20-years-old, resident of the City of Moreno Valley, was cited for commercial burglary on May 31, 2020
  • Cristian Santos, 24-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was cited for commercial burglary on May 31, 2020
  • Marquise LaFrance, 25-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was booked for looting, commercial burglary, resisting/obstructing of a public officer on June 1, 2020, and had a $50,000 bail
  • Calvion Lee, 24-years-old, resident of the City of Los Angeles, was arrested for looting, resisting/obstructing of a public officer, and curfew violation on June 1, 2020, and had a $50,000 bail
  • Bradie James, 37-years-old, resident of the City of Compton, was arrested for looting, commercial burglary, and curfew violation on June 1, 2020, and had a $50,000 bail
  • Tranisha Hart, 29-years-old, resident of the City of Hawthorn, was arrested for looting and commercial burglary on June 1, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Sulu Nofoaiga, 28-years-old, resident of Long Beach, was arrested for attempt robbery and post-release community supervision violation on June 2, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Isaac Silva, 22-years-old, resident of the City of Hawaiian Gardens, was arrested for looting, commercial burglary, vehicle theft, and grand theft auto on June 10, 2020, and had a $50,000 bail
  • Omar Nunez, 30-years-old, resident of the City of Hawaiian Gardens, was arrested for looting and commercial burglary on June 10, 2020, and had a $50,000 bail
  • Damel McClure, 24-years-old, resident of the City of Bellflower, was arrested for looting and commercial burglary on June 15, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Trinity Havis, 19-years-old, resident of the City of Paramount, was arrested for looting and commercial burglary on June 15, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Daiza Acosta, 21-years-old, resident of the City Wilmington, was arrested for looting and falsely identifying self to a police officer on June 24, 2020, and had a $50,000 bail
  • Shaun Maher, 42-years-old, resident of the City of Los Angeles, was arrested for looting on June 26, 2020, and bail was set at $50,000
  • Giovanni Reese, 39-years-old, resident of the City of Los Angeles, was arrested for looting and driving with a suspended license on July 1, 2020, and bail was set at $70,000


In addition to these arrests and in the short time since operations began, 28 arrest warrants have been obtained. Another 15 cases have been submitted to the District Attorney for filing consideration of felony charges. Furthermore, members of the task force have impounded 12 vehicles and executed six search warrants. The task force will continue to work very closely with our Federal, State, and local law enforcement partners.

We promised our residents and business owners that the individuals who looted our businesses would be held accountable. The task force will continue to review all submitted photos and video evidence thoroughly. However, we ask Long Beach residents, business owners, and visitors to provide any photo or video evidence they may have. We also encourage anyone who may have been victim to a crime during this time to report it immediately.
