15-Year-Old Shot and Wounded in Long Beach

On Sunday, at approximately 3:56 a.m., LBPD officers responded to the 900 block of Raymond Avenue regarding a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old male victim suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.

The victim stated he was in the area when he entered into a verbal dispute with a male adult suspect that escalated to the shooting and the victim fled on-foot. Officers located evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers detained a male adult subject at the scene, and the investigation to determine his involvement with the incident is underway.


At this time, the motive for shooting remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported. 
The investigation is ongoing.
