Witnesses Step In to stop Naked Man during Possible Sexual Assault

On Wednesday morning, an incident involving a naked man possibly assaulting a woman near Cherry Ave. and 14th street in Long Beach was caught on camera and posted to social media.

The video of the incident shows a naked man on top of a woman on the ground. 

Witnesses stepped in to pull the man off the woman on the sidewalk when a physical altercation ensued between the man and the individuals attempting to help.

LBLN learned that when Long Beach police officers arrived on scene they contacted a male subject who was safely taken into custody.

Long Beach Fire also responded to the scene and transported the subject to a local hospital for his injuries, where he is being held for a mental evaluation according to Long Beach police Richard Mejia.
