Upcoming Events to be Held on the Historic Queen Mary

LONG BEACH, CA – The Queen Mary has been famously known to host exciting events. Kickstart your summer and come out to Long Beach’s historic Queen Mary and waterfront to enjoy events of all types. 

This Saturday, June 25, the Queen Mary waterfront will be holding a two-day house music festival, Day Trip. Tickets are still available to purchase through their website, and two-day passes will be starting from 189.99 and up. Some sponsors of the events include Bacardi, Truly, and even the instant messaging app, Snapchat. 

The house music scene has been on the rise since the new album releases of Drake and Beyonce, prompting many to listen and turn their ear to the genre. Kick off July with a Mojadita Boat Party! This event will be filled with Latin-American sounds of reggaeton. Get ready to dance with an oceanfront view on July 1, with tickets starting at $45. There will be multiple bars, live music, and a taco stand. Visit here to purchase tickets. Uber/Lyft is recommended. 

If partying is not really your style, do not fret. The Queensway 5k will be held on Saturday, July 29 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. This run will take you from the Queen Mary through Shoreline and circle back. Registration is required to participate in the run, with the race fee at $40, plus $3.32 for the sign up fee. There are still approximately 1,300 spots available and the deadline to register will be on July 12 at 2:00 P.M. For more registration and event information visit their website.  

The 20th Annual Freestyle Festival is back and will be taking place on Saturday, August 20th. This festival will be filled with old school freestyle artists such as Lisa Lisa, Taylor Dane, as well as electric and disco performances. Another event that has just been announced is Shaquille O’Neal’s, Shaqtoberfest. This festival is coming this Halloween season and will be held on the historic Queen Mary as well, but no additional details have been released.
