LBLN Weekend Round-up

Long Beach is a diverse city and there’s always something to do. Long Beach Local News has compiled a list of events you don’t want to miss this weekend.

FRIDAY

The Pie Bar’s August Pie Baking Class will teach attendees how to create a Dutch Apple Pie from scratch. Class runs from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. A $50 ticket includes the making of a pie and bottomless mimosas or sangrias! Space is limited to six guests. The Pie Bar is located at 450 Pine Ave. 

The Museum of Latin American Art is teaming up with ‘Help Me Help You’ by hosting the Molaa Food Pantry from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Those in need are asked to enter through the 6th Street entrance to receive free groceries. Identification and registration are not required. The Museum of Latin America Art is at 628 Alamitos Ave.

SATURDAY

Are you a fan of your motorcycle? Roland Sands and Fast babes is having a Paint Your Motorcycle event from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. To participate, purchase a ticket and send the event organizer a photo of the bike you’d like to paint. A picture of your motorcycle will be hand sketched for you and be available to paint during the event. Tickets are $45. The event will be held at Roland Sands located at 1365 Obispo Ave.

The East Arts District is holding its Second Saturdays Art Walk this weekend. There will be paintings, performances, and live music. Food and drinks from local restaurants will be available for purchase. The Art Walk begins at 12 p.m. and will end at 5 p.m. East Village Arts District is at 1st and Linden Ave.

Creative Babe Market at Trademark Brewing will have more than 40 local vendors, beers and slushies, food, and music. Admission is free. The market will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Trademark Brewing is located at 233 E. Anaheim St.

The Feline Good Social Club is hosting Comedy and Cats from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a night of laughter and comedy while spending time with 30 cats. Tickets are $30. The Feline Good Social Club is at 301 Atlantic Ave. 

SUNDAY

Coffee Run at the Shore is a three-mile run along the beach path with the option to test out a pair of New Balance sneakers. Free coffee from Philz will be provided afterward. Every attendee will receive a ticket that has scratch-to-win opportunities for store discounts and raffle prizes. The free event begins at 9 a.m. at Runner’s High, located at 5338 Second St. 

Creative Communal Makers Market will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2nd & PCH along Seaport Way. The market will have more than 30 local makers, character performances and meet and greets, live music, and photo ops. Pets and families are welcome. 

Roxanne’s Rum and Tiki Social is back for its seventh year. Tickets range from $5 to $50 plus the Eventbrite fee. Every general admission ticket will provide 10 tastings from the many rums that will be on site. Attendees will receive a free welcome ticket cocktail. Food and goods from vendors will be available for purchase. Roxanne’s is at 1115 E. Wardlow Road. 

The Museum of Latin American Art is having a busy weekend. The Long Beach Blues society will be performing a live concert.  General admissions tckets are $30 and VIP tickets are $45 (and include two free drinks). There will be various exhibits to appreciate, food trucks on-site, and a cash bar. The Live Blues and Blues Rock Outdoor Concert will be in the Robert Gumbiner Sculpture Garden. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. and will end at 8 p.m.
