17-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured in Shooting; Separate Stabbing Incident Reported

A teenage girl is in critical condition after being shot in Long Beach on Tuesday night. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near 11th Street and Lewis Avenue.

Upon arrival at the scene, LBPD officers discovered the 17-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition.

LBPD is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including any potential suspects or motives.

This incident comes amidst another reported crime in the area. At approximately 9:40 p.m. on the same night, officers responded to a stabbing near the San Gabriel River and Willow Street. A male adult victim was found with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the stabbing occurred following a verbal dispute between the victim and a known male adult suspect. The suspect fled the scene before the arrival of law enforcement.

Both incidents remain under investigation by the Long Beach Police Department.
