14-Year-Old Girl Wounded in Shooting Involving Stolen Car

A 14-year-old girl was injured in a shooting involving a stolen car, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department. The incident unfolded around 6:40 p.m. on Thursday evening.


According to authorities, the teenage girl was among a group of individuals traveling in a stolen Kia when the alarming event transpired.

The group had come to a halt at an intersection near 11th and Linden Avenue. At this point, they engaged in some form of interaction with a male driver. Suddenly, the situation escalated when the unidentified driver discharged a firearm towards the Kia, causing injury to the 14-year-old victim.

Following the shooting, the group dropped off the wounded girl in the 1100 block of Linden Avenue, in close proximity to St. Mary Medical Center.

LBFD paramedics promptly transported the injured girl for medical attention.

Law enforcement officials initiated an investigation into the incident. While the stolen Kia was swiftly located, crucial details regarding the suspected gunman remain under active investigation by the LBPD.Thankfully, authorities have confirmed that the injuries sustained by the teenage victim are not life-threatening.
