MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center Hosts Life-Saving Sidewalk CPR Event
Long Beach, CA — In a continued effort to empower the community with life-saving skills, MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center is hosted its annual Sidewalk “Hands-Only” CPR Event, offering free, one-on-one CPR training sessions for the public.
Since 2012, the medical center has been dedicated to educating the public on the importance of “hands-only” CPR a simplified, yet highly effective, method of aiding individuals who suffer cardiac arrest. With cardiac arrest ranking as the leading cause of death in the United States, MemorialCare’s outreach is part of a vital initiative to increase survival rates through community education.

Participants in the event received personalized training on adult and pediatric manikins, allowing them to practice and build confidence in their ability to act during a real-life emergency. Healthcare professionals will be on-site to demonstrate techniques, answer questions, and explain how to identify the warning signs of cardiac arrest.
“This training can truly be the difference between life and death,” said a representative from MemorialCare. “Our goal is to ensure every community member feels confident and prepared to help if someone nearby goes into cardiac arrest.”
The event was free and open to all ages, encouraging residents to stop by, learn, and potentially save a life.
