Update 9/23/21 at 10:30 a.m.:
On Sep. 23, 2021, the Long Beach Police Department was notified that missing person Davontay Marquise Clark was located unharmed at a medical facility in the City of Covina. Mr. Clark has been at this facility since he was brought there on Sep. 12, 2021 as a John Doe.

The Long Beach Police Department @longbeachpd.ca is asking for the public's help locating a 26-year-old critical missing person, Davontay Marquise Clark, who was last seen on Sunday, Sep. 12, 2021, at approximately 1:00 a.m.

Clark was last seen by a family member at his residence in the 600 block of W. 3rd Street, Long Beach. Clark suffers from medical conditions, may easily become disoriented, and is non-verbal. He left on foot in an unknown direction and could possibly be heading to the City of San Pedro.

The critical missing person is described as follows:

Age: 26-years-old
Gender: Male
Race: Black
Height: 5'08"
Weight: 162 lbs
Hair: Black hair and goatee
Eyes: Brown
Clothing: Brown T-shirt and brown sweatpants
Medical Alerts: has medical conditions and may become easily disoriented. Clark is non-verbal.

Anyone with information regarding this missing person is urged to call the LBPD Missing Persons Detail at (562) 570-7246 or Police Dispatch at (562) 435-6711. Proof of Vaccination Require at Indoor Bars, Wineries, Breweries an Distilleries in Long Beach.

The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department) will align with Los Angeles County and require proof of vaccination at indoor bars, wineries, breweries and distilleries that do not serve food (establishments that are 21+). While not required, the Health Department also strongly recommends that restaurants establish similar proof of vaccination requirements for the safety of its staff and patrons.

Throughout the pandemic, the City has proactively protected its residents and visitors using data and recommendations from medical experts. Data show that those who are 18-34 years old are least likely to be vaccinated and are being infected at higher rates than other age groups. Indoor bars, breweries, wineries and distilleries are considered some of the most high-risk settings and have the highest instances of interaction without masks. Further, they already require patrons to show identification and have established practices to ensure compliance; these also are establishments often frequented by those in their 20s and 30s who are the least likely to be vaccinated.

Outdoor mega events of 10,000 or more people will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to attending. Attendees at indoor mega events are already required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result prior to entry. The City has already proactively implemented this protocol for the largest outdoor event in California, the Acura Grand Prix which is scheduled for Sept 24-26, 2021.

The Department will issue a revised Health Order by the end of the week. To allow time for compliance, patrons and employees will be required to be partially vaccinated by Oct. 7 and fully vaccinated by Nov. 4.

Long Beach, CA – People traveling through Long Beach are advised to expect traffic delays throughout the City. Street closures will be in effect and congestion is expected from Monday, September 13, 2021 through Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

@potus President Joe Biden plans to speak at a rally for Governor Gavin Newsom’s recall election rally at 6:00pm tonight at LBCC.

Periodic road closures and traffic congestion will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, through noon on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

Please be advised to access the downtown area, visitors may use 3rd Street or 7th Street. Employers are encouraged to consider telecommuting for staff during these times.

Decade in the Making of State-of-the-Art Terminal. Long Beach Container Terminal and the Port held a grand opening Aug. 20 to celebrate the completion of the Middle Harbor Redevelopment Project. The modernization project has transformed two aging terminals into one of the world’s most technologically advanced container terminals.

Long Beach Container Terminal at Middle Harbor is a 300-acre facility powered almost entirely by electricity that can handle up to 3.3 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) annually. On its own, it would rank as America’s sixth-busiest container port.

“This engineering marvel sets a new standard for international shipping, goods movement and many other industries, said Port Executive Director Mario Cordero. “It is a global model of efficiency and sustainability.”

From concept to construction, LBCT and the Port partnered to develop this state-of-the-art terminal. The process has taken about the same number of years it takes a student to get from preschool to college, with LBCT functioning as a working terminal the whole time. “We chose to do the right thing the right way. We can proudly and confidently state we are the cleanest container terminal in North America,” said LBCT CEO Anthony Otto.

LBPD officers responded to the area of Atlantic Ave & San Antonio Dr, located the suspect and safely took him into custody.

The suspect was identified as 36-year-old David Manuel Santana Garcia, who was booked for child cruelty, assault, battery, and other public transportation charges.
