One Killed, One Wounded in Two Separate Shootings Hours Apart in Central Long Beach

Long Beach Police had a busy night after 2 separate shootings that accrued in central Long Beach.

The first shooting happened just after 11:00pm near 14th and Rose. LBPD was following the vehicle after it was driving erratically, they finally stopped in a hospital parking lot when the police discovered a man shot in the car.

The victim was treated immediately and the injury appeared to be non-life threatening, according to police. This shooting is being investigated as gang related.

The second shooting was fatal. Long Beach police were called at 2:00sm to the 500 block of Rhea Street and found the victim, who was shot in the upper torso, on a sidewalk in front of a home, police said.

The shooting motive is unknown at this time and unknown to be gang related.
