Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Patients Trade their Braces and Wheelchairs for Scuba Gear

The rehabilitation program at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital has partnered with HSA to teach children how to scuba dive. The HSA is an international non-profit organization dedicated to giving people with disabilities a once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity.

This unique program from HSA is helping children improve their physical, cognitive, social and emotional abilities through fun and relaxing activities. Many of the rehabilitation patients have special needs such as spina bífida, traumatic brain injuries, and neurological disorders.

Trading their braces for scuba diving gear for the day is an important way to help them improve their physical and social well-being. For more information please check out www.hsascuba.com orwww.memorialcare.org
