Man hit during car-to-car shooting in Long Beach

On Saturday at 9:50 a.m., Long Beach police officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Cover Street regarding an assault with a deadly weapon.


When LBPD officers arrived they contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower torso.


Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for his injuries.

The victim stated he was in a verbal dispute with a male suspect in front of a business on the 3300 block of Cover Street. Following this dispute, both parties drove away and while in their respective vehicles, a second verbal dispute occurred which resulted in the suspect shooting the victim.  


Gang Detail detectives are actively on scene investigating to gather additional information.
