BREAKING NEWS: Shooting reported near 10th Street and Cherry Avenue

Update: Long Beach Police Department has released preliminary information regarding this incident. At approximately 2:01 p.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of E. 10th Street regarding a shooting. Through their investigation, officers determined a male adult victim was shot in the area of the 900 block of Gardenia Avenue.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the lower body, was transported by Long Beach Fire to a local hospital, and is in stable condition. Officers located evidence, including casings. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a male adult, last seen driving westbound on 10th Street in an unknown vehicle. At this time, the motive is unknown. Gang detectives responded to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
