Long Beach is Feeling The Love This Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and there are many events happening throughout the city to help those celebrating the special day.

2nd & PCH is hosting live music featuring singer-songwriter Katie Hargrove on Feb. 12, and musician Tom Norman on Feb. 14. Both live performances will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the 2nd & PCH grand staircase. For more information, visit 2nd & PCH

In addition, to live music, guests can dine at restaurants featuring special Valentine’s Day menus. The Bungalow Kitchen will be featuring a four-course meal only available on Feb. 14 and will accommodate reservations until 9:30 p.m. Hungry Angelina will be featuring a plant-based dinner menu for Valentine’s Day that will be available from Feb. 11 to Feb. 14. 

2nd & PCH is also hosting a Valentine’s Instagram giveaway which includes a $50 gift card to Lather, $50 to dine at The Italian Homemade Company, and two limited editions of Valentine’s Day ice cream sandwiches for pickup on Feb. 14 from Ample Hills Creamery. Belmont Shore will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with Sweets Week on Second Street from Feb. 14 to Feb. 18. Two daily freebies will be announced on the Belmont Shores Instagram account at noon and 4:00 p.m. Businesses on second street will be offering free desserts and drinks to those who show the daily posts. Belmont Shore is sure to offer something for your sweet tooth whether it’s a signature iced coffee from Moon Mountain Coffee or a red velvet brownie sundae from Simmzy’s. The Aquarium of the Pacific will be hosting a Valentine’s Day themed Night Dive event on Feb. 11. The event will feature music from Freddy Rutz and No Surrender Sound on the aquarium’s Great Hall stage as well as a number of DJs playing music throughout the aquarium galleries. Cocktails and drinks will be available in addition to food from Bison Burger Food Truck, Bollywood Bites, Savage Tacos, and Inglorious Funnels, and More. Attendees can get an airbrush Valentine’s Day tattoo or adopt a seal with the Seal it with a kiss adoption package which features special Valentine’s Day gifts along with the adoption. The event is for those 18 years of age or older and those in attendance must have proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. 

For those who feel like getting creative this Valentine’s Day, Valentine’s Day Painting Party will be held at Hellada Gallery, 117 Linden Ave., on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 2-4 p.m. Couples or solo participants will create together, one painting made of two paintings/two canvases; each partner will paint on an individual canvas that will be the matching half to their partner’s painting. All supplies are provided. No experience is needed. Tickets are still available for purchase here.

For ladies looking to have a fun Galentine’s Day out, they can join Galentine’s Day Paint & Sip Brunch hosted by Scholars Collective, 236 East 3rd Street, #Suite 100C, on Feb. 13 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will feature art teacher LaJon Miller who will lead participants through a painting class. Tickets are $48 and all adults must bring I.D. and have proof of vaccination or negative COVID test within 48 hours.
