Man Critically Shot in Downtown Long Beach

Man critically shot in Downtown Long Beach near Ocean blvd. snd Cherry ave. Friday night at 8:26pm.

One male subject had a GSW to the head. CPR was started by LBPD, LBFD arrived and took over. LBFD transported the victim to a local hospital in grave condition, victim was unconscious and not breathing. Victim is an African American male in his 20’s.

Suspect shot the victim, then fled down the bike path with the gun in his right hand.
LB lifeguard tower received footage of the incident and LBPD has reviewed it.

LBPD did detain one subject with a gun at the downtown metro station, unknown if it’s the suspect for this murder.
