Aquarium’s Sea Fare Chowderfest Raises $139,000 In Support Of The Nonprofits

More than 700 people attended the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Sea Fare Chowderfest event on Saturday, October 15, 2022, which raised $139,000 in support of the nonprofit institution’s animal care, education, and conservation programs. More than twenty local businesses provided samples of hearty chowders, savory bites, and fresh baked goods and there was unlimited craft beer and wine. Live and silent auctions featured dozens of items, trips, and experiences. Artists Sam Carter, Gina Hsiang, and Sküt created live Aquarium-inspired pieces of art as items for the auction. A live band played in front of the Honda Blue Cavern exhibit.

“Sea Fare Chowderfest is a celebration of the animals, conservation efforts, and education programs at the Aquarium that help connect the public, from adults to students, with the ocean and environment. We rely on the support of our loyal donors, members, and community, and we are so grateful for their generosity,” said Ryan Ashton, Aquarium of the Pacific vice president of development. All funds raised at Sea Fare will directly support the nonprofit Aquarium’s education, conservation, and animal care programs.
