3 Injured in Morning Plane Crash on Catalina Island
Three people were injured after a single-engine plane went off the runway at Catalina Airport just after landing Wednesday morning.
The Piper PA32 crash was reported about 9:30 a.m. on Runway 22, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor.

One passenger was in critical condition, and two others were moderately injured, said Marvin Lim of the L.A. County Fire Department. They were airlifted to a hospital on the mainland about 10:40 a.m., he said.

FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate what caused the plane to go off the runway, Gregor said.
