3 people shot, wounded in Long Beach

On November 5th, 2020, at approximately 4:40 pm,  LBPD officers responded to the 700 block of Chestnut Avenue regarding a hit shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located three victims that were struck by gunfire, two of which were juveniles said Long Beach Police PIo Allison Gallagher.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the victims were standing outside on a sidewalk when an unknown suspect opened fire. The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victims to local hospitals. The motive for the shooting is unknown. 

Officers are currently still investigating at the scene and potential suspects have been detained. LBPD have increased patrols in the area and will continue to have a heavy police presence.
