At approximately 06:24hrs this morning, LBFD responded to a structure fire on the 1100 Block of E Broadway. Upon arrival, LBFD advised they seen smoke showing and fire which fully engulfed a apartment complex. Fire was seen heavily from the roof of the apartment complex and all sides as well.
LBFD bumped the fire up to a 2nd alarm structure fire and requested more engines to the incident to assist. A ladder truck was seen at the scene, with the ladder up to the roof and firefighters breaching the roof top to allow ventilation for smoke and fire.
LBFD quickly worked to extinguish the fire by 07:20hrs, made an effort to save life and property, and also prevent the fire from reaching nearby residences. No injuries of civilians or LBFD personnel were reported. It is still unknown what caused this fire.
LBFD Arson detectives will continue to investigate this incident for an unknown duration. Thank you Long Beach Firefighters for quickly working to extinguish this fire and work to protect life and property.
