Marine Fire in Long Beach Harbor
Long Beach Fire Department’s Lifeguard Rescue Boat 1 and 1st Alarm Assignment made quick work of a 40-foot pleasure craft vessel that was engulfed in flames earlier this afternoon in Alamitos Bay. Though no injuries were reported, fire investigators are currently looking into the origins of the fire.
Being docked in the heart of Alamitos Bay, this incident had the potential to damage a significant number of vessels that call the bay home. Thanks to the fast response of first responders, what could have been a perilous crisis was averted.
