Meet Bowie (#A661312), a very special 2 year old German Shepherd mix. Bowie came to aCS as a stray in August of 2021. He was so incredibly undersocialized and completely terrified that it took months for anyone to be able to handle him. Slowly he bonded with his favorite volunteers and began to understand that people were good and brought treats and affection and kindness. Bowie will need a patient, dog savvy owner to provide the guidance and reassurance he'll need as he slowly builds his confidence with the great big world outside of the shelter. He's very dog friendly and might benefit from having a relaxed, confident sibling to help show him the way. He's loving, affectionate and bonds tightly to those he loves and trusts. We can only guess at the sad, lonely life Bowie had before coming to LBACS and now after spending nearly 11 months at the shelter this young dog deserves to see how wonderful life in a good home can be

The shelter is over capacity. Please help network this gorgeous pup! Self-schedule an appointment to visit him at http://LBACS.as.me . You're also welcome to stop by during our new open walk-in hours every Wednesday through Sunday from 11-3:00.

If you can help foster, adopt or rescue, please email animalrescue@longbeach.gov or petfoster@longbeach.gov.
